Pruning

This must be done every year after the heavy winter cold has been overcome. In general, old branches competing with the main trunk selected as the leader, fruitless, gluttonous shoots are removed from the tree and rejuvenated. Every year, 25% of the branches on the tree are cut and entered into a cycle of change, rejuvenation and fruit setting. It should be aimed that the apple tree is completely renewed in 4 years and equipped with fruit branches of different ages. Fruit eyes are not touched during pruning. The branches that will be returned to fruit the following year are preserved. Cuts should not be made zero except in special cases. Pruning Teams should be selected from those who are educated, who have the awareness and knowledge of why, why they cut the branch. Random cuts should not be allowed. If the necessary sensitivity is not shown in pruning, which is one of the most important steps of cultivation, it will fall behind other gardens due to pruning mistakes made at the beginning of the season. Unnecessary costs and additional labor costs during the season will be a problem. In order to reduce pruning labor in strong species and accelerate the transition to fruit yield, shoot control will be ensured and trees will be encouraged to fruit, thanks to special PGR applications that will be started when the shoot length reaches 5 mm.

Wounds opened with the use of copper-containing products after pruning should be closed for fungal entry. Thus, the defense of trees against disease factors will be strengthened and necessary precautions will be taken.
